Animatic Animation

I decided to do a little bit of research just so I have a rough Idea of what Animatic Animation is.

"Animatic are animated Storyboards, They are used for various Purposes depending on the medium for which they are being produced. Animatics are used every day in the advertising industry to test commercials. They're used to preview scenes of live-action films before they are shot. You'll find animatics in pre-production stages of animation and in video game industry." - http://www.aboutanimatics.com/

MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU

Some pretty freaky time laps animation here. I like this kind of animation and how they had taken a lot of quickly photos or parts of film to show the images moving. The images themself where hand painted on walls then painted over to create the next frame which could invovle the first image only moving an inch. This kinda of drawing for the animation and the size it has been done must of taken Blu, the animator, ages to do.

IRON MAN 3 animatic - Mansion Attack

An animatic version of the only good sence in Iron man 3. I like the mixture of 3D animation as well as sketchy drawn images, However I think the mixture could of been done a little bit better but I dont think that is the point of the animation.

Joust Animatic Storyboards

I really like this type of animation, it looks really sketchy and fresh. I think this is done by carefully drawing out each scene and frame and putting them all together, I could imagine this being done with story boarding just before its taken and made properly.

How to make a 2D animation.

Found this rather interesting, would be  interesting to give this a try, the only thing i dont really like is how stiff the characters look.

The Struggle - Scroobius Pip

So this isnt much of an animation but I am also looking at things I could use as part of my aduio and to base my animation around. I like the first 1:30 minatues of this video as somthing that builds up to a rather shocking and funny conclusion. I may take this song and mess with the aduio so it only takes 1 min to get to the line "My name is Jonny Depp and I kill people"

Linkin Park - Breaking The Habit (Official Music Video)

I really like the animation done for this video, I like the sketchy drawing style that has been done for it, I'm not too fond of the colouring and I think it would look a lot better if it was in black and white. I think the colour looks a little bit to digital whilst the drawings are traditional, I dont think they work well together and this is why i'm not too keen with the colouring in this video.

EPIC BATTLE !!!!!! Goku vs Superman flipbook animation by etoilec1

The reason I like this is because it is a hand drawn animation done for a flip book. I like how the artist has used a lot of time to draw each small movement of the characters resulting in more then a hundred pages to flip threw.

Magic Moving Images book (HD) by Colin Ord

This is another optical illusion that makes an image look like its moving, but this does it a lot more effectively then my first illusion post. I would love to find out how the screen and the book is made so I could experiment with this kind of image

MINE TURTLE (asdfmovie song)

Apart from having one of the most cheerful songs I have ever heard one of the main reasons I like this animated music videos is because of the way it mixes animation and film together. The animation and film is separated into different scenes and i think it would be interesting to see these images combined into one scene.

Game Grumps Fanimated - Nine Tails, BABY!!

I like two things about this animation, I like the drawing style and the way the animator has used lines for shading, colour and wing direction. He has also used lines to make a shot look dramatic as well as for wind direction, for example when the characters are running, lines come off their bodies. This kind of drawing style has a very sketchy feel about it without colour i believe this drawing style would suit the game grumps batman animation background from my previous post, since that background was made to look like screwed up paper I think theses line drawing (minus the colour) would suit that kind of background and give the animation a sketchy doodling look.
The second thing I like about this video is how the animation flows, the angle is always changing but also moves with the characters as if they are jumping over the camera or running along side of it. The video has good example of perspective as well for example when the camera is closer to the floor the characters feet are a lot bigger indicating that the camera is directly at there feet.

Game Grumps Animated - Batman Trilogy

I find the most interesting part about this animation is the background. It reminds me of doodling in class on some scrap paper, the animation itself works well with the background, the style the characters are drawn in also remind me of small cartoon character you would draw very quickly with the aim of making them funny. However I think the characters would look a lot more interesting if they had a sketchy look to them, I think this would complement the background a lot more.

Moving image

I am not sure if this falls under the category of moving images, however I do like how even though it is not a moving image when you look at it, it does move.
